Trentino wins the 13th stage of the Vuelta

Trentin crossed the 198,4 km between Corner and Tomares in 4 hours, 25 minutes and 13 seconds.

Tomares — The cyclist Italian Matteo Trentin has signed a third stage win at the Vuelta on Friday, winning the sprint in stage 13 of the Tour of Spain.

 

Trentino has benefited from the support of his teammates, to settle near the head before hair two rivals in the final metres. He won by more than a length of bike and crossed the 198,4 km between Corner and Tomares in 4 hours, 25 minutes and 13 seconds.

The winner of the Tour de France, Christopher Froome, has kept its lead at the top of the general classification by crossing the finish line a few seconds later, at the same time as its rivals.

 

Vincenzo Nibali is second, with 59 seconds to Froome. Esteban Chaves follows in the third position, 2 min, 13 of the head.

 

Michael Woods, Ottawa, has taken the 13th position of the step, with the same timing as the head group. It is still 2 min 41 behind Froome in the general classification in 13th position.

 

Hugo Houle of Ste-Perpétue, finished the stage in 105th position, a 4-min 10 of the winner. It has slipped to 2 min 03 s 14 of Froome in the general classification, in 118th position.

 

Svein Tuft, of Langley, British Columbia, took the 152nd place of the step, 5 min 43 of Trentino. It is the 170th place in the overall standings, 2 min 49 s 23 of the head.

 

Trentino had also won the fourth and tenth steps. His team-mates at Quick-Step Floors Julian Alaphilippe and Yves Lampaert have also won a stage each since the start of the Vuelta.
