    Travellers in the region of Playa del Carmen, Mexico, should avoid the ferries, tourist as a result of two troubling events recently.

    On his website dedicated to travelers, the government of Canada indicates that the mexican authorities have found an explosive device on a boat operating out of Playa del Carmen, on the Riviera Maya.

    We also learn that this is the second event of the sort, the first dating back to the 21st February last, when a device exploded on board a ferry bound for the resort island of Cozumel. At this time, the authorities had indicated that the preliminary analyses suggested that the explosion was due to “a mechanical problem”.

    The explosion, that occurred a little over 10 days on a boat of the company Barcos Caribe, has made more than 20 injured, including tourists.

    Cruise lines have for their part canceled the trips using the ferry services in this area highly prized, of the State of Quintana Roo.
