Two lovers of “drift” each receive a citation from 1532$

Two lovers of “drift”, a driving technique that consists of a skid voluntary, have learned to their depends on that this passion can be very expensive, so that they each received a citation from 1532$ after having been taken on the fact, in Thetford Mines.

The two drivers, aged between 18 and 20 years old and from Sainte-Croix-de-Lotbinière, are made to catch in the area of the streets Gregory and Bergeron, Thetford Mines, last Sunday.

These streets, which have more curves, are highly prized by the lovers of “drift”.

At the time of the facts, “the walkers were walking and parents playing outside with their children,” laments Yves Simoneau, a spokesperson for the Sûreté municipale de Thetford Mines.

The two drivers at fault have also had four demerit points. One of the two drivers will lose his licence after the payment of his offence, because he had a probationary licence, says the spokesperson.

The municipality has received several complaints of citizens, who have reported this dangerous driving to several locations. The Safety wants to send the message that carelessness will not be tolerated, especially to fans of this technique.

“There are curves, there are slopes, a roundabout and the snow ; they (the fans) are dying of laughter, says the spokesperson. We pass the message that these acts will be penalized in a sudden finding of a violation of$1500.”

The Sûreté municipale de Thetford Mines encourages citizens to continue to denounce this kind of driver. Notice to those who want to take a risk ; the calls to denounce the “drift” will be treated in priority, to notify Mr. Simoneau.
