Projet Montréal is committed Saturday to review the current draft of the redevelopment of the parc Jean-Drapeau in creating “a real boardwalk” along a half-kilometer on île Sainte-Hélène.

According to the head of projet Montréal, Valérie Plante, “Montrealers have always had to be at the heart of the project of redevelopment of the parc Jean-Drapeau”.

This is the reason for which it proposes to revise the current draft and would like a new promenade which will provide Montrealers with better access to the river Saint-Laurent”, if she is elected to the city council of Montreal, November 5, next.

This development, half a kilometre, would connect the area Round the place des Nations.

In a press release, the training policy has deplored the fact that this boardwalk has been “removed from the redevelopment plans of the park Jean-Drapeau”.

“The boardwalk was the only portion of the redevelopment of the Jean-Drapeau park for all Montrealers, the amphitheatre has primarily been designed to serve the interests of a private developer. His death is a mistake that projet Montréal will correct,” said Ms. Plant.

Projet Montréal ensures that the project will not result in additional costs, “given that it will be integrated to the current envelope of the proposed redevelopment of the parc Jean-Drapeau”.
