David Beaudry has learned that he had won$ 10 Million seeing an opinion research of Loto-Québec on Facebook, more than three weeks after having purchased his winning ticket.

“I saw that there was a big unclaimed prize. I checked the numbers on the website of Loto-Québec and that is where I saw that they had won. It was a surprise and an incredible joy,” said the man, 44-year-old, still in shock, recovering his cheque this morning in Montreal with his wife and two children.

Mr. Beaudry had purchased a ticket for the draw for the Lotto Max on July 14 Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville and has not verified the numbers last Saturday.

“I was on the couch in the living room when David said to me : Nancy, come here, check it, check it, check it ! We have you all the numbers ? told Nancy Calixte. I haven’t even had the time to look at the numbers, he said, he esti, esti, esti ! That can’t be true. We won$10 Million…”.

The scene was so surreal she said. The 45-year old woman did not understand what was happening at the time, even if all the numbers were consistent.

“In my head, I saw 10 000$. I hadn’t even seen all the others 0. It was like a dream,” she started, laughing.

The couple immediately went to the store to validate the ticket. “It was written$ 10 Million on the machine. The cashier said : wow, I’ve never seen it,” she continued.

Travel

An employee in a chemical plant, Mr. Beaudry plans to retire. Ditto for his wife, who works for Desjardins.

The couple is planning to travel with their two children of 14 and 19 years, starting with Jamaica. But first they will make their passport. For the rest, nothing specific, they say.

“We’re going to take our time… before coming here this morning, I didn’t have a cenne in my account, said mr. Beaudry. Since Saturday, we played the miner who finds his nuggets of gold and which is tucked away in a corner, looking at his ticket until it the exchange. Let’s say that we have not slept much”.

“My precious !”, immediately added as soon as his wife, laughing.
