If there’s a series that took all of us by surprise in the last three years, it is of course The Exorcist, while everything was working against it. But, even the small miracles have an end.

When we first heard about the tv series derived from The Exorcist, we could not conceal our concern, especially as it was scheduled on the Fox network, not necessarily the network the more punk of the world. And then, go figure why, the miracle took place. The first season proved to be ultra creepy, disturbing, as well as intelligent.

It was already hot for her, but the Fox has decided to sign a season 2, which aired late last year. If it did not go as far as the previous one, this new season we reserved all the same great moments, and called it a season 3. Yet, from the outset, we were made to understand that it was not earned, and for months, we were in the dark.

So it is with great sadness that we learn today that the Fox comes to cancel The Exorcist, which therefore will not season 3, as well as other series such as Lucifer, Brooklyn Nine Nine , or The Last Man on Earth. If the anger might be understandable, the creator of the series, Jeremy Slater, however, has explained on Twitter that he was not to blame to the Fox, which was sustained well beyond the necessary :

“I know it’s easy to be angry with the Fox, but the reality is that we had the hearings, the lowest of any chain, and they have signed for a season 2, because they loved the series. Therefore, there is no villain in this story.”

And it is true that the series did not shine by its scores since, with an average of 2 million viewers, season 2 was still plunged up to a small 1.5 million spectators. To be much too little to justify the startup of a new season. And that is unfortunate. Was wondering what people are watching on tv…
