At the time of the witch hunts, men tremble and trépassent in front of the sentence. Walking or dies. Excuse yourself or die. Like David Cross.
The story is not simple. Then it’s going to take a bit of courage, hang in there and go back up the thread of the story back a little. Since the accusations of sexual harassment against Harvey Weinstein, it is all the word of women who was able to escape. Who took the opportunity to blame and pointing the finger at their oppressive male. Among the recent victims of accusations we find, among others, Morgan Freeman and our person of the day : Jeffrey Tambor.
In what trouble I am still stuffed
To make it very short, Jeffrey Tambor, head of displays of Transparent (dismissed from the series) and actor recurring in ‘s arrested Development has suffered a few pangs of the wrath of women. After the criticism of Van Barnes, and Trace Lysette, it is the turn of his colleague, Jessica Walter, confront publicly Jeffrey Tambor.
“In the almost 60-year career, nobody shouted at me like that on a platter. It is hard to digest, but now it is finished,” had entrusted the actress, in tears, during a round-table discussion with the entire team of the series.
A little later in the interview, the actress spoke his feelings : “I still want to say one thing which I come to realize with this conversation. I must stop being angry with Jeffrey Tambor. It has never exceeded the limits on our series, for all that is sexual. Orally, by hand, yes. I harassed her, but he apologized. It is necessary that I move on to something else”.
It is in this context that Jessica Walter is not opposed to working with him : “of course, I could again collaborate with him immediately.”
Here’s audio of Jessica Walter CRYING, standing up for herself after all the men in the AD cast try to gaslight her into thinking Tambor’s harassment isn’t THAT bad. This is horrific. pic.twitter.com/innJv8LIYF

At the time, one of the actors of the series, David Cross, was also expressed on the subject to support his brother Tambor, in spite of all the food court that there was around him. Today, the actor looks back on her decision and has expressed publicly on the networks, his error of yesterday :
“I would like to unequivocally apologize to Jessica. I’m sorry the way in which we have dealt with it. I think that’s what Jeffrey did was blatant and cruel. I’m not going to defend what Jeffrey has done it all. There’s just no excuse to behave this way”.
Ho damn this mess
Even a reversal of the situation for Jason Bateman. After he announced that he “didn’t understand why Jessica Walter was crying this way” and “anyway it happens all the time, there is not enough there to cry”, the actor had taken a torrent of insults on the part of the spectators. So, same as David Cross, Jason Bateman, apologizes publicly to his tour :
“I wanted so much to show to Jeffey that I was supporting the way in which it tries to learn from his mistakes, grow up, apologize that I under-estimated the feelings of the victim. She was sitting right there ! I am ashamed and I am deeply sorry to have done that to Jessica Walter. I would not have had to do the ‘mansplaining’ [note : the tendency of men to explain to women with condescension that they already know or mecsplication in French] and try to reconcile two people, but rather just focus on the main : that there is never an excuse for the harassment, regardless of its shape and its victim”.
… sitting right there!
I’m incredibly embarrassed and deeply sorry to have done that to Jessica. This is a big learning time for me.
I shouldn’t have tried so hard to mansplain, or fix a fight, or make everything okay.
I should”ve focused more on what the most important…

…part of it all is – there’s never any excuse for abuse, in any form, from any gender. And, the victims ‘ s voice needs to be heard and respected.
Period.
I didn’t say that and instead said a bunch of other stuff and not very well.
I deeply, and sincerely, apologize.

“And, the voice of the victim must be heard and respected. I said nothing at the time. I am deeply and sincerely sorry.”
The consequence of all this history ? The tour of promotion of the actors in the Uk has just been cancelled, as announced by the giant of streaming Netflix in a press release. Without doubt in order to avoid fuelling any controversy.
The release date on Netflix season 5’s‘s arrested Development is still scheduled for may 29.
