It goes without saying that during these next lines : spoil is coming. At least, if you haven’t seen the last season.
With the countless characters of Game of Thrones, you will soon have our preferences. Between the most machiavellian, the most unbearable, the most moving and the most endearing, finally Game of Thrones is the kind of series with which we begin to create an affinity with the protagonists as episodes. Especially with the character of Kristian Nairn, aka Hodor, that we appreciated a lot and who has recently returned on a cameo that was indigestible.
With the 67 episodes of the saga, we have seen a passing of the dead, still dead and mostly dead, and sometimes a few appearances of hollywood stars. It is a little returned to a mode of any way to introduce for a short moment of celebrity in an episode (he has to do is look at the last two caméos of Deadpool 2).
Now that I am no longer in the series, I can say whatever I want
Anyway, Game of Thrones has also had its share of caméos, in particular with the group Sigur Ros, which appeared for a short time, the wedding of Joffrey in season 4 to play “The Rains of Castamere”. The band Of Monsters and Men, was responsible to accompany the comic strip of season 6 where Arya reviews, on the death of his father. But the one that interests us today, this is the guy who appeared at the beginning of season 7. First episode, middle of plot. Will you have it ? We speak, of course, the musician, Ed Sheeran.
During an interview with the Huffington Post, Kristian Nairn (Hodor) has released a discontent non-concealed on the appearance of the actor :
Hodor not happy
“Base, I’m not a fan of caméos in Game of Thrones. I don’t like it and I think it’s stupid. I find that it logs you out of your immersion in the series and returns you to the real world. Especially for Ed Sheeran. I said to myself : “Why Ed Sheeran is here ?” I mean, it is a very nice person, a good musician, but why he is in Game of Thrones ? I’m not saying that I’m not a fan of Ed Sheeran.
But I think a lot of people would agree with me on this point, it has no place. It is a series of fantasy and imagination, we are all caught up in this amazing world, so many people spend their time and money to create the most of a universe outside of the ordinary and all of a sudden, what, there’s a pop-star ? “
Already that Ed Sheeran had not captured all the votes when he appeared at the beginning of the season, the new declaration of Kristian Nairn could put oil on the fire. In the meantime, it will have to be patient a little bit of time to get the season 8 of Game of Thrones which comes out next year. Otherwise, you can always re(re)keep the passage of Ed Sheeran if you like to do you harm.
