Netflix and the director of True Detective combine for Maniac, a show psychedelic totally crossed out.
Adapted from the show’s eponymous Norwegian, the series Maniac, made by the talented Cary Fukunaga (True Detective season 1, Beasts of No Nation), was unveiled in a first teaser particularly enigmatic a few weeks ago. This time, the series Netflix worn by the duo of Emma Stone – Jonah Hill shows much more with its first trailer</strong>.
The series will tell of the disastrous consequences of an experimental drug developed by a scientist (Justin Theroux) on patients of a psychiatric hospital. In these new images, the delirium of the psychedelic is absolute, and promises a host of visual ideas. Indeed, the madness of the patients will carry their spirit in multiple worlds fantasy : a universe fantastico-medieval, the time of prohibition, a diplomatic meeting, a family of rednecks, a miniature world, or even in the skin-spies…
A mutliplicité themes that will be the opportunity for Cary Fukunaga juggle with genres in the ten episodes expected for this season 1, full of promises. It will land on Netflix on 21 September with also in the cast : Sally Field, Billy Magnussen, Gabriel Byrne, Julia Garner, Trudie Styler, Jemima Kirke, or Sonoya Mizuno (Ex Machina, Annihilation).
