That the studios and Hollywood do anything at this point, it is a basis and that we reserve moments of candid giggles as painful surprises. But then, it was not expecting it at all and we don’t really know how to react.

Let’s be clear : there is nothing more sacred, and especially not in Hollywood. In a cyclic manner, the machine regurgitation, therefore, is running again and we no longer talk of remakes and making reboots a thing of the past few years to such a point that it starts to weigh heavy on the stomach. The difference with the phases similar past, is that today the media and the financial madness that surrounds all of these projects bring with them an atmosphere of Wild West-pretty crazy.

In addition to the 80’s that is back in force, it must also reckon with the major franchises of the horror. If Halloween is highly anticipated and will be released on the 24th of October, if Chucky has managed his return and prepares a reboot AND a tv series, others have more evil as Freddy or Jason for example, who are not able to take the train. But it’s easy to forget a saga that has never disappeared from the radar, doing his thing in his corner, more or less of happiness : the franchise the texas chainsaw Massacre. As well as a chronology of the most complicated (with suites interspersed between saga main and saga reboot), this universe had offered us lately a Leatherface of sad memory, directed by Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury.

But now that the site Bloody Disgusting tells us that the saga should see significant changes very soon , since its exploitation rights are going to leave the studio Lionsgate to go back into the hands of Kim Henkel, the producer and screenwriter of the original film, Tobe Hooper, and that this was already under discussion at the time of the release of Leatherface. Today, the rights baladeraient in nature, the Company cannot produce a new film all to itself, and could put their suitcases in Legendary, co-producer of Godzilla and King Kong to the latest (which now share the same universe) that would have big project for our family-degenerate preferred.

It would, in fact, a tv series derived from the original film, as well as a new series of movies (a little picture of Chucky ), although this did not for the moment nothing official. As long as the deal is not signed, so all is still possible, and Henkel could very well decide to go elsewhere, even if this alliance could put out a few tracks unexpected. Indeed, Legendary is under contract with Warner, which owns New Line, owner of the franchise, Freddy and, if all goes well at the legal level, the saga Friday 13 may to return to his home in 2019. In short, we can already begin to theorize as sick even if, once again, nothing is done. But hey, we’re not going to be complacent : you see it coming, the big expanded universe ?
