Future Man : season 2 of the comedy series SF unveils its first images and release date

The series of science fiction comic between Back to the Future and Terminator shows the first images of season 2 expected firm footing.

Season 1 of the Future Man has been one of our productions favorite tv of last year. This comedy science-fiction geek sassy and juicy had made us delirious with its many time travel and its tributes galore to a side of the pop-culture of the Terminator to Forrest Gump through Pulp Fiction, Michael Jackson, Super Mario bros , or the inevitable Back to the future.

Season 1 would have be enough by itself, but it left the door ajar for a possible season 2. Released in November 2017, the series has finally been renewed by Hulu as of January 2018 for a second season. Ten months later, the first pictures are finally revealed by Entertainment Weekly.

Josh Futturman is back

The magazine has interviewed the creators of the show to know more about the plot of this season. Kyle Hunter has given a few details on the rest of the series :

“The first season involved two characters from a future horrible, and trying to prevent these events from happening by travelling back in time. This new season tells the story of how the three main characters return in the future of 2162 and are forced to live with the consequences of their mission in the past. There are a few leaps in time, but in the major part of the story focused on them living in this new future.”

And apparently this new future does not bode well for the character played by Josh Hutcherson , as explained in the co-creator Ariel Shaffir :

“It is at different stages of a life mess, so yes, at times he is a slave. This is not a good future for Josh. He ends with the hero at the end of season 1, and it’s really going to wallow in the depths here.”

A bad pass that will not stop the young hero to compare certain situations to movies, series, video games or books. The average for the series to continue swinging of the references to everything going on pop-culture and, in particular, to Blade Runner this year, according to the creators.

In the casting of this second season, there will, of course, the three main actors of the show : Eliza Coupe, Derek Wilson, and so Josh Hutcherson. New actors will also make an appearance including the young Alyvia Alyn Lind (Masters of Sex, Transparent) in the skin of a certain Lungnut.

The first episode of season 2 (which will normally be 13) will be released in exclusivity at the Comic Con in New York on 6 October. For ordinary mortals it will, however, wait much longer to discover this new season. It is expected to arrive on 11 January 2019 on Hulu, and surely in the weeks that follow on OCS in France.
