The Vampire Diaries, Scandal, Empire: The most disappointing series of 2016

Back on the series that disappointed us in the year 2016, as for example season 7 of The Vampire Diaries, season 5 of Scandal and a few others.
Every year, some of our series – even our favorite series – disappoint us. Whether new, shows that have been installed for a while, or other, there are always misfires. If you were offered yesterday to discover the series like The Good Wife, Person of Interest or Devious Maids who left us in 2016 , today we present you our disappointments of the year. This can be due to a wobbly intrigue, lack of ambition or originality or boring storylines. Here are the series that most disappointed us in the year 2016:
The season too?
There are always series that pass their expiration date and continue to offer us episodes when they should have stopped a long time ago. Among them, first of all we think of Pretty Little Liars , Series Marlene King. We all agree that the masquerade has lasted enough and happily season 7 is the last. Speaking of last season, it is also time that The Vampire Diaries is coming to an end, since Julie Plec turns around for some time with the characters of Damon and Stefan. Season 7 of the series was a real disappointment, and if the start of season 8 is better, we are far from the intrigues of the beginning. It is now time for the adventures of the Salvatore brothers to close before the fans lose interest. Finally, one can not mention the series who had a season not to mention too Scream Queens , the show’s wacky Ryan Murphy . If the original concept knew how to seduce more than one during the first season, this one seems to lose moment with the second. Moreover, the series has not yet been renewed by the FOX.
The novelties that perhaps should not have seen the light of day
Each year the chains offer new series and it is hard to know in advance which ones will find thanks to our eyes. Of course, there is always the series that do not work, as was the case at the beginning of 2016/2017 season with Conviction or Notorious . The two series of ABC, two pale copies of Scandal have struggled to convince audiences. Despite tantalizing concepts, Conviction and Notorious were not up to our expectations. One of the biggest disappointments of 2016 is certainly Vinyl , the HBO series produced by Martin Scorsese and Mick Jagger. It was one of the most anticipated series of the beginning of the year and that is unfortunately lost, especially from a creative point of view although it had all the ingredients on hand to be a success – damage . Feed the Beast , the AMC series with David Schwimmer has known more or less the same fate – although much less expected. Finally, Heartbeat , the NBC medical drama with Melissa George in the title role, was a real flop.
We hope that the next one will be better …
Between disappointing series already canceled and those that start their last season, there are those which disappointed us but which are still in progress. We think of Scandal, whose season 6 will begin on January 19 next on ABC , which offered a particularly uneven season 5. Sometimes it is not clear where the series wants to go and it keeps concepts or characters that prevent the renewal of intrigues. We hope that season 6 will be more exciting. In the same vein, we also have The 100 , whose promising season 3 has proven to be a great disappointment. Between the death of Lexa, that of Lincoln, but especially a bungling at the level of the intrigues and the development of the characters.
After the first seasons that have dramatically raised eyebrows, the Empire seasons 2 and Unreal were well below. We could not help being disappointed, since we were waiting impatiently for their return. The season 3 of Empire is already in progress on the FOX and for the moment it is difficult to regain the infatuation of the beginning. As for UnREAL, it is hoped that season 3, which will normally be broadcast this summer on Lifetime, will be better. What series disappointed you in 2016?
