Alien Covenant: Dark and scary, our critic!
The Xenomorphs are back in Alien Covenant, today in theaters. And as much to tell you directly, you are not ready for what awaits you.
If in space, nobody hears you in the cinema, yes and believe us, before Alien Covenant , to shout, you will scream. Ridley Scott had warned us that Alien Covenant would be the biggest and most bloody film of the franchise and that he would give us “a real blue scare” . And once we get out of the cinema, we can only agree. From the beginning to the end, there is this uneasiness which is intruded into us, this threat that weighs on us. From the beginning to the end, one is tense, on the alert, terrified, disgusted. In short, mishandled. With Alien Covenant , Ridley Scott proves that he still knows how to mix horror and science fiction to perfection, Offering a film as horrifying as it is exciting. With one difference: to this gore and frightening atmosphere, the director added a certain complexity by raising interesting questions, related to the two androids portrayed by Michael Fassbender, David and Walter. The real stars of Alien Covenant , in the end, are them. Complex, they make all the richness of the scenario and even manage to put the horrible Xenomorphs of Ridley Scott in the background.
Let us speak, moreover, of the Xenomorphs. It is in them that incarnate all the violence and the gore side of the film. They are back, more terrifying and more bloody than ever and they are there to spare no one. Sensitive souls, abstain, in Alien Covenant , the blood flows, squirts, explodes. Ridley Scott does not skimp on hemoglobin and is not afraid to show us the horror of their damage, to have a sick. They kill mercilessly, but it is not very serious because the characters are not very big losses. If actors offer great performances, it is not enough to make their characters interesting and we do not really attach to it. Even Katherine Waterston, who plays with accuracy and intensity, can not get to forget the Ellen Ripley of Sigourney Weaver. But OK, When you think about it, is this really the most important? Not really, since Michael Fassbender arrives very well to carry the film alone, terribly complex and agonizing, when the other characters just serve to offer us the gore and scary part by being defeated by the Xenomorphs. And in case you still doubt it, you get an idea of the nightmare that awaits you in a new excerpt from Alien Covenant. So, will you see it? You get an idea of the nightmare that awaits you in a new excerpt from Alien Covenant. So, will you see it? You get an idea of the nightmare that awaits you in a new excerpt from Alien Covenant.
