A few hours ago, an interview of George R. R. Martin given to Metro was very surprised… Until the author clarifies the situation.

Metro readers have discovered with amazement that the author who invented the world of Westeros and is working hard to conclude his saga does would look more adaptation of HBO and ignore what takes place there. Where some concern on the part of fans, fearing suddenly that the text and its transposition do not differ radically.

Except that, as was inquired about Entertainment Weekly, it seems that a big misunderstanding is at the basis of these remarks. In fact, the writer would have explained to his interviewer that in the midst of a tour of conventions and whatnot everywhere in the world, he had not been able to watch the series properly from the beginning of season 7.

The writer was assured, however, that he still followed the creative process and had in no way stopped watching Game of Thrones. However, as recalled by George R. R. Martin, the fans should prepare for some major differences…

“The novels and the series follow separate paths… on the screen, the characters fall like flies. There are just 20 of which are already dead, that I consider to be alive and who will be present in the next book. “
