The eighth season of The Walking Dead will hit the screens on 22 October. Attention spoilers !

Too slow, too wait-and-see, the art direction pretty lousy… season 7 had been, in a more or less large scale, a nightmare for the editors. Yet, despite all the criticisms we made it to the series, it was (and has always) want to keep hope. And even if, it is not expected with an impatience crazy, we really hope that the season 8 will surprise us. When you are told that you have a good background.

However, after the declarations of Scott Gimple at the microphone of Entertainment Weekly a few days ago, our hopes are melting like snow in the sun. Interviewed on the war between Rick – Negan and its duration, the showrunner has been very clear :

“The war will be completely finished at the end of season 8. Absolutely. “

On one side, there is a little reassured. The character of Negan, unfortunately, badly exploited, according to we compared to the Comics, will be finally less in the center of attention after this season. Thus, another cycle potentially more interesting could see the light of day.

But on the other hand, when you know the COMICS, you can’t help to think that the leader of the Whisperers, Alpha, could make his entry in the show. All the more that Scott Gimple has not wanted to comment on this point with the guys from EW. Unfortunately, this would mean at the same time, the introduction of a new time, the classic pattern of The Walking Dead with a new rival very nasty towards the group of Rick. Hurrah for the redundancy…

The season 8 of the series, AMC arrives on October 22.
