Donald Trump will remain executive producer of Celebrity Apprentice

The president-elect Donald Trump will remain executive producer of the TV show Celebrity Apprentice , which he has long been the central character, said Thursday the MGM studio, confirming a report in Variety .

Asked about the remuneration of Donald Trump in his capacity as executive producer, MGM TV, which produces the show, did not answer.

The new season of the show will be broadcast from January 2 on NBC. Eight episodes are planned, so some will be broadcast after the inauguration of the next president of the United States, 20 January.

The show will be presented by actor and former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, the “new boss” according to the trailer.

Launched in 2008, Celebrity Apprentice is an offshoot of the show The Apprentice , broadcast for the first time in 2004 on NBC.

Since their creation, the two programs revolved around Donald Trump and his supposed ability to find people with a talent for business.

In a large meeting room Trump Tower, the real estate mogul was receiving candidates and departed in an emission, using his now ritual phrase: “You’re fired” ( “You’re fired!”).

Candidates of Celebrity Apprentice are competing with each other and have to raise as much money for charity.

If the concept of the show was created by the British Mark Burnett, Donald Trump was involved from the initial stages of the project as co-producer.

After launching his presidential campaign in June 2015, the businessman announced that he would not present the show.

A few days later, in response to controversial statements about Mexicans, NBC announced the dissolution of its business relationship with Donald Trump, but he was contractually executive producer of Celebrity Apprentice .
