Mindhunter : David Fincher and composer Jason Hill to say more about season 2

Season 1 of Mindhunter is surely one of the most beautiful creations on television of the year.

We don’t know you, but to us this weekend, we cancelled all our plans to devour the new series produced in part by David Fincher : Mindhunter. It must be said that for us, the american director is a kind of God of the 7th art After three long years of waiting and Gone Girl, so it was a liberation to discover the outstanding season 1, Mindhunter, created by Joe Penhall.

However, now that we have seen it all, it is rather sad to say that it will have to wait many months to see season 2, commissioned by Netflix, even before the broadcast. Fortunately, the composer of the series, Jason Hill, and David Fincher, have already teasé of the elements of this next season in an interview with Billboard :

“Next year, we will see the murders of children in Atlanta, so we have a lot more afro-american music, which will be nice. The music will evolve. It is designed to support what is happening in the show and allow us to evolve drastically between each season. “

Between 1979 and 1981, at least 28 children, teenagers and adults, african-american, have been killed in the city of Atlanta. It is thanks to John E. Douglas, the FBI agent, which inspired the character of Holden Ford in the series (Jonathan Groff), that the alleged killer has been arrested. A good sordid exciting. All the more that the use of the original soundtrack and the music selected in this season 1 were a real treat : A Fifth of Beethoven Walter Murphy, Fox on the Run Sweet, Kiss you All Over Exile… The arrival of air more jazzy and blues enchants us in advance.

Season 2 should be turned in by next may. David Fincher could then be occupied by the filming of World War Z 2. Hope that the filmmaker manages to stall a little time in the middle of the blockbuster to direct some of the episodes. This second season is not expected to arrive on Netflix before the end of 2018-beginning of 2019.
