After Ex Machina and Annihilation, Alex Garland prepares for a new science-fiction project.

Annihilation is one of our greatest expectations movie of the year (even if we regret that it fails to do so on Netflix in us) and the first rave reviews of the film have only served to confirm our enthusiasm. After his excellent Ex Machina, director Alex Garland seems to be left to mark the science-fiction and we can’t wait to see it.

However, what interests us here is his brand new project SF : Devs. After the big screen, the filmmaker is preparing a series of science-fiction for the FX. During an interview, Collider asked him for clarification :

“Devs, this is for Developers. It will take place in San Francisco and it is a kind of history of technology. It is a particular aspect of the technology in this moment for very, very large data and processing power, very powerful, and what can happen if you put these two things together. “

Enticing thus, even if all this remains extremely mysterious and unclear for the time being. Alex Garland has stated that the series was designed for a single season but if he leaves the door open :

“If they want to continue, I guess they could do it, it is a independent history. But there are ways to do that. “

Then he explained to be interested to adapt Swamp Thing in the movie, Devs is the real priority of Alex Garland. The director hopes to begin the shooting of his series in the next six months. The research of casting and location scouting have already been launched.

His Annihilation comes out on the 23rd of February in the United States. No official date has been announced for the moment in France, for Netflix, even if we can imagine that the feature will arrive on the platform around the 7th march next.
