Cinema 9 May, 2017

Last night, episode 2 of American Gods was broadcast on Starz. Was he as much appreciated as the Pilot? Check out our review as well as the episode 3 promotional video!
Last week, we proposed to discover our verdict of American Gods, the new Starz series with Ricky Whittle (The 100) . The pilot had managed to attract our attention and above all our curiosity. It should also be said that the main actor is for many. Did Episode 2, which was broadcast last night, managed to seduce us and possess the same dynamics as the first? What happened to Shadow after being beaten in the virtual limo? It’s time to discover our criticism of this new episode. “The Secret of Spoon” opens on a difficult scene with a room filled with slaves. Mr. Ibis (Demore Barnes) will come back on this terrible part of the story and will eventually free them. This scene is poignant and especially heavy. We are directly impregnated with this atmosphere so violent, dark and scary of the series. Obviously, this episode 2 had its share of violence with always this “absurd” side between the reality and the virtual that characterizes so much American Gods !
This episode 2 of American Gods was also centered on the journey between Shadow and Mr Wenesday. They took the road to begin their journey. Obviously, their path has been strewn with pitfalls, including Shadow who thinks he’s getting completely crazy . To tell the truth, we can understand … The scene in the supermarket was really full of humor and even if he feels completely crazy, he lent himself to the game! He talked to Lucie through with the TVs, but it is not for that he abandoned his partner. Their first mission is to go to Chicago to convince one of the ancient gods, Czernobog, to join them! The reception between the two divinities was of the most icy and the man with the hammer refused to follow them. Shadow was therefore obliged to insist and accept a high-risk checkerboard game . Indeed, if he wins against Czernobog, the latter follows them otherwise he will die. In other words, the pressure was at its maximum during this scene!
The interpretation of Ricky Whittle (Shadow Moon) was once again incredible . He has a strong charisma and this role suits him perfectly. In addition, the duo Shadow / Mr Wenesday works pretty well and the black humor is always there. This episode also allowed us to see Laura, Shadow’s former wife and especially to have proof that she was cheating on her best friend. It is this photo that allowed him to go ahead. Shadow has no attachment and can follow Mr Wenesday in his delusions and make his road trip across the United States. “The Secret of Spoon” also had a strong soundtrack that accentuated the dramatic side of the show as well as the anxiety that arises. This episode finally got into the heart of the matter and announces a series full of surprises and promising. Episode 3 seems to follow the same path. The “Head Full of Snow” promo video reinforces the absurd and virtual side of the show. Shadow will have a new mission imposed by Mr Wenesday, to steal a bank . Will he accept without knowing his past and his stay in prison? Will he question everything? To know the appointment next Monday but in the meantime, discover the spoilers of the week! And you, what did you think of the episode? Reinforces the absurd and virtual side of the show. Shadow will have a new mission imposed by Mr Wenesday, to steal a bank .
