The trailer for season 2 of American Gods is finally here.

Has its dissemination between may and July 2017, American Gods, adapted from Neil Gaiman, has been a series staple, that has divided of course, but is now positioned as one of the works in the strangest and most ambitious landscape. Since then, the war of the gods to the screen has almost taken place behind the scenes.

In November 2017, the show runners Bryan Fuller and Michael Green to leave the series, obviously as a result of conflicts with Neil Gaiman on the rest of the story. In the aftermath, Gillian Anderson and Kristin Chenoweth drop out of their roles, and even if the production is repeated in all the senses that all this is normal, the concern mounts. Jesse Alexander, a close relative of the Fuller, is finally announced as the new showrunner, alongside Gaiman.

When you realize the mess behind the scenes

Except that Alexander is, in turn, thanked, in the middle of shooting season 2. Delays, scenarios are not satisfactory, the number of episode reduced from 10 to 8 to limit the budget (the first season would have cost more than expected), the actors who rewrite the dialogue on the board : the rumors are multiplying, and no release date has been announced, this second season is long overdue.

The appearance of a first trailer for the New York Comic Con is therefore a step forward.

American Gods will resume obviously the story at the same point, with Shadow Moon (Ricky Whittle), who became the bodyguards of Mr. Wednesday (Ian McShane), so that a war between the old and new gods growing in power in the United States. Well-known faces, and a few other new : this season 2 is going to have to refresh the memory of the spectators, since it will be passed probably two years between the release of the two seasons.

No other details than “2019” for this second season.
