With often no possibility to recharge their car, it is not uncommon for residents of apartments are resigned to acquire a gasoline-powered car.

But now the Swedish company Uniti offers an alternative for city dwellers : an electric car whose batteries are removable. Thus, arriving at the office in the morning and arriving home in the late afternoon, it will be possible to bring a battery pack for a recharge.

Taking the form of a small suitcase, this block of 2.2 kWh will not weigh more than 10 kilograms. With these batteries, it will be possible to travel up to 30 kilometres.

The purpose of this small car is consuming the least amount of electricity possible. Thus, it was reduced to a maximum of the total mass of the vehicle by equipping it with only two seats. For a vehicle to be urban-oriented, it is more than acceptable. Furthermore, it has been installed, the electric motors directly in the wheels of the car. At this stage of the project, it is estimated that it will be able to accelerate from 0 to 80 km/h in as little as 3.5 seconds.
