The adaptation of the series of novels At the crossroads of the worlds of Philip Pullman materialize yet a little more : the director Tom Hooper is committed.

You spoke a little while ago, after having slept for several months in the boxes of the BBC, the adaptation of the novels At the crossroads of the worlds of Philip Pullman has put a big boost. His Dark Materials (the original name of the trilogy of books) comes, therefore, to find not one, nor two, but three members to its team, including nothing less than the director and the main actress.

Tom Hooper on the plateau of “les Misérables”

Tom Hooper is a director in the career short but noticed. After a first unassuming film, his second feature film The king’s Speech he brings nothing less than an Oscar for best director and an Oscar for best film in 2010. This opened to him the doors of Hollywood for an adaptation of the comedy of Les Misérables with Hugh Jackman, before returning to a project less large, but always noticed with The Danish Girl, which will be awarded to Alicia Vikander Oscar for best actress in a supporting role.

It is to this director that will be up to the daunting task of put in the picture a narrative with complex themes of metaphysical little obvious, and it is hoped that they will not be overshadowed by the love story between Will and Lyra to just give a romance and teenage fantasy…

Lyra, he drool not on the rollers

Side actor, for Lyra precisely, we learn that it is Dafne Keen who will play the young girl. His name means nothing to you, but you’ve all seen this in Logan, where she camped with an aggressive energy welcome to the mutant X-23. Rather a good choice, therefore, Lyra is described in the books as a young girl, particularly a rebel with a will of iron, responding and reacting to one quarter of the turn at the slightest remark. However, it may have to dye it blonde.

Finally, Lin-Manuel Miranda (The Return of Mary Poppins) an actor-singer rather be a follower of the boards of the theatre, has been hired to play the secondary character Lee Scoresby, an adventurer, very affable, who had rolled his hump. Sharpshooter, aeronaut, it is a adjuvant that does that from time to time, but the last piece of glory is particularly epic.
