In the framework of a survey carried out by Ipsos survey of 1002 adults in November and December 2017, 22% of respondents were in favor of autonomous cars, while 24% said that they would not ever place at the edge of such type of vehicle. The other participants in the survey were rather reserved, preferring to wait to see how the technology will develop in the future.
Surprisingly, respondents were most likely to trust for manufacturers (36%), government (24%) to regulate this technology is still young.
An idea increasingly accepted
If the idea of being able to drive a vehicle without a driver remains rather controversial, it seems clear a path to social acceptability, slowly but surely.
Last January, another study conducted by the American Automobile Association (AAA) showed that fewer and fewer american drivers say they are “frightened” by the technology stand-alone.
