The English actor Benedict Cumberbatch returns in a new mini-series called Patrick Melrose.

Showtime is about to release this year a mini-series of five episodes called Patrick Melrose, an adaptation of the new semi-autobiographical of the same name written by the author Edward St. Aubyn. The story tells the journey of existential difficult of Patrick Melrose, from his childhood deeply traumatic abuse of alcoholic substances and/or opiates as an adult, until the healing.

The protagonist is a wealthy aristocrat who fight against the memories of a father horribly hard and violent and a mother of a hypocrite who turns a blind eye to the abuse her son. Each episode will be the adaptation of one of the five new and will take us back in time, moving from the south of France in the 60’s in New-York in the 80’s up to the England at the beginning of the years 2000.

Benedict Cumberbatch takes the lead role, he has apparently always wanted to play after Deadline, and is also one of the producers of the mini-series. Except him, Patrick Melrose displays a casting interesting : we learn with pleasure that in particular the far too rare and under-employed, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Hugo Weaving will be of the party. One will also find the main actress of Girls Allison Williams, after his interpretation successful in the no less successful Get Out.

To the date of exit from other hand, we know that it will happen during this year to 2018, but nothing more. Of course, we follow it closely.
