Slavery is perhaps the most sensitive issue to address through a work of fiction. HBO actually costs…
The Civil war remains a hot topic. Slavery, tearing the internal of a country that is still new and whose history remains still to be written is not afraid to HBO, which, as usual, intruding once again into the controversy with his new project Confederate.
If slavery was still current ? If the South had managed to secede with the North still practice this monstrosity ? An uchronie nightmare in which the two show runners David Benioff and D. B Weiss (GOT) are working for their next collaboration with the subversive chain. Except that this is an assumption that story is far from unanimity across the Atlantic. Of course, with the recent events in the new America of Trump, the police violence towards minorities that continue to make headlines, the idea, as sociologically interesting as it is, could only react.
David Benioff and D. B Weiss at the heart of the controversy
During the last night and the third episode of Game of Thrones, April Reign, which had launched at the time the #OscarsSoWhite has given the cover this time with the #NoConfederate. Given the magnitude of the phenomenon HBO had to respond :
“We take of course into consideration the controversy and discussions around Confederate. We have full confidence in David and Dan to address the topic of the most respectable. The project is still in its infancy, so we hope that people will wait to see the first images before getting an idea.”
Has the image of The Handmaid”s Tale , and his women who lost all of their rights and The Man in The High Castle where the Nazis won the Second World War, a Confederate could revive painful memories which are not to the taste of everyone if we are to judge by the avalanche of tweets #NoConfederate.
Definitely HBO is at the heart of the turmoil lately…
#NoConfederate because the terror of white supremacy is a reality for POC. This shouldn’t even have to be a hashtag in 2017.

#NoConfederate because of the terror of white supremacy, which is a reality for POC (People Of Color). This should not even be a hashtag.
