Death after the administration of naloxone by police in Brampton

    BRAMPTON, Ontario – The special investigations Unit of Ontario (SIU) has opened an investigation following the death of a man of 36 years old, Brampton on Monday, after the police had administered a dose of naloxone.

    According to initial information provided by the SIU, officers with the Peel regional police, to surrender, to 12: 30 p.m. in a residence located in the area of the road McLaughlin and Queen street, following a call for medical assistance.

    Upon their arrival, they found a man and had him administer a dose of naloxone, an antidote used for overdoses of opioids.

    His death was subsequently found on the premises.

    The SIU has indicated support for an investigation, as is the case when police officers are involved. Two investigators and three forensic investigators have been assigned to this incident.
