Death of Bill Paxton, actor of Titanic and Aliens, after surgery

Twister’s American actor-director Bill Paxton and one of the fetish actors of Canadian director James Cameron died at the age of 61 following surgery.

AMERICAN actor-director Bill Paxton passed away on Saturday, February 25th, at the age of 61, following complications related to surgery. The actor had two children and was married to Louise Newbury for 30 years.

Actor of the Canadian director, James Cameron, Bill Paxton has played in several of his films: Terminator, Aliens, True Lies, and Titanic. He became a director in 2002 with the thriller Emprise, of which he is also one of the two headliners with Matthew McConaughey.
According to the US site TMZ, Bill Paxton died as a result of post-operative complications. “It is with a heavy heart that we announce the news of the death of Bill Paxton,” confirmed his family in a statement. TZZ journalists had met him last time in Los Angeles in August 2016 and he had assured that ” everything was going well”.

First a set designer on film sets, Bill Paxton debuted in camera in the action movie Crazy Mama by Jonathan Demme (1975) as a star. But it was only ten years later that his career really took off with the film Terminator by James Cameron. In this film where Bill Paxton is massacred by an Arnold-Terminator-Schwarzenegger, the sequence lasts only a few seconds on the screen but it will mark the beginning of a long collaboration with the director of the film.

The two men meet for the last time in Titanic whose unprecedented success allows the actor, who embodies a submarine explorer, to further consolidate his popularity, gained in particular thanks to the film Twister. With this film, big success of summer 1996, it holds its first real leader of poster with the sides of Helen Hunt.
