An organization for the defence of rights of users of public transit, launches this Monday morning, a petition calling for a service more punctual on the line of the commuter train deux-Montagnes.

While the target for the punctuality of the RTM is 95 %, this rate has not been achieved on a monthly basis since October last year. On the line of Two-Mountains, the on-time rate is down to 70 % at the beginning of the month and service delays stretch sometimes several tens of minutes.

Trajectory Québec is asking the metropolitan transit system (RTM) to announce a plan of action to “bring back the punctuality of the train service to what it was in the last few years”.

The organization also calls for the establishment of a compensation policy so that users with a history of long service delays can be compensated.

In addition, interim measures more effective for cancellations of trains must be put in place, according to Trajectory Québec, like buses “available quickly and using the lanes to reach the destinations in the centre of the region”.

In order to mobilize the users of the line is the busiest on the network, the organization will create a committee of citizens who meet in between the other Two Mountains and Pierrefonds next month.
