It is not uncommon to hear from the mouth of nostalgic finishes that the auto Show in Detroit, is no longer what it was. It seems that this year, Ford has decided to prove otherwise by presenting three vehicles worthy of mention : Edge ST, Ranger, and of course, the Mustang Bullitt.
Before we go any further, let’s do a brief history. Bullitt is a detective movie from 1968 in which we can see one of the prosecution automobiles the most memorable of the film. Taking place in the streets of San Francisco, featuring a Dodge charger 1968 black as well as a Ford Mustang green in the same year at the wheel of which is Steve McQueen. For the event, Ford had the brilliant idea to bring together one of the two copies of the Mustang GT 1968 that one could see fifty years ago in the film, as well as the all new. In addition, the latter has been unveiled by Molly McQueen, granddaughter of one of which was with class a turtleneck navy and jacket, brown in this film.
Ford has not done things by half. We don’t simply affix a patch “Bullitt” and say that the game was played. The V8 5.0 L develops 10 horsepower more than the GT as we already know, which boosted the power to 470 horsepower. As to the maximum speed, it was raised to 13 km/h, which allows him to reach the 262 km/h.

At Ford, we also worked on the sound of this special edition so that she purrs to perfection thanks to the intake manifold that is borrowed from the Shelby GT350.
As demonstrated in the whole car, it has the attention to detail in this american manufacturer. Indeed, we note the gear knob white, which is, you guessed it, similar to that of the Mustang that we have seen see on the big screen. In addition, we note the absence of the logo of the Mustang on the grille, a story that she is to be faithful to the original. For the 2001 edition, we had omitted this detail.
The one who is expected to officially see the light of day next summer will be available in green, Dark Highland Green or black Shadow.
