The 31st edition of the Festival International Nuits d’afrique in full swing since Tuesday. Among the dozens of shows that will be presented by the 23 July, which are worth visiting ? The Journal offers you four.

Amadou & Mariam

This couple of blind from Mali no introduction as its success in 2004, with the album Sunday in Bamako, accents, afrodisco, had been important in Quebec.

For their return to Montreal, Amadou Bagayoko and Mariam Doumbia will present compositions from their new album, which includes the single Bofou Safou.

Artist born in senegal and in the caribbean, Tété is not the last to arrive. In 2004, the musician was crowned Revelation of the year at the Victoires de la musique in France.

With her show at Nuits d’afrique, the artist will offer the new parts folk-blues which can be found on her most recent album, his eighth in his career, The chronicles of Pierrot Lunaire.

Ben l’oncle Soul

In France, Ben l’oncle Soul, Benjamin Duterde his real name, has a very nice career. The artist’s soul has made a name in 2008, delivering times soul, Katy Perry, Aqua, Gnarls Barkley and The White Stripes.

In 2010, the musician launched his first album consisting of songs in both English and French. Last year, he launched the disc Under My Skin, on which it takes over parts of Frank Sinatra in reggae, hip-hop and soul.

Emel Mathlouthi

Invited to participate in Nights of Africa in the context of the series of Major Events, the Tunisian Emel Mathlouthi will present the songs of his second album, Ensen. The disc, dyed appliances, which includes percussion tunisian almost tribal.

For the past few years, the artist, born in 1982, is one of the voices in the view of the stage Arabic-speaking. It counts among his influences Bob Dylan and Joan Baez.
