Fraud: the son of Denis Coderre pleaded guilty

    The son of the mayor of Montreal Denis Coderre has recently plead guilty in a fraud case, Tuesday at the palais de justice of Montreal.

    “Yes”, simply said Alexandre Coderre and recognizing that he is guilty of mischief and of fraud.

    The 21-year-old returned to the court for the third time since his arrest in the spring. He was accused of malfeasance, fraud, and obstruction of having made a false declaration.

    According to court filings filed at the time, Alexandre Coderre would have illegally used a credit card during several months, from April 2015. Alexandre Coderre would suffer also cyberdépendance.

    When the investigation began, the young Coderre would have, however, made false statements to investigators. The description of the charge suggests that the survey would be implemented from January 2016 to February 2017.

    “All the support to him will be given, steps have already been made”, had assured his lawyer Conrad Lord during the court appearance.
