After its eighth season next year, Game of Thrones will end. And it is a shame for George R. R. Martin, the author of the literary series.
Voted best drama series at the 70th ceremony of the Emmy Awards, Game of Thrones nears the end. However, if the horde of fans and spectators are waiting more than anxiously for this last and final season, George R. R. Martin, the author of the books, is disappointed to see the series stop as “soon”.
If they are not happy… You know what to do
It is at the micro Variety that the latter announced that he would have liked to see the series created by D. B. Weiss and David Benioff, last few years :
“We would have been able to achieve the 11, 12 or 13 seasons, but I think that after that, the creators of the series wanted a life. If you’ve read my books, you know that there was enough material to do more seasons. They have made cuts, but it suits me. “
Even if we can imagine that the disappointment is huge at the side of his author (although the fans of the saga literary are still waiting for additional news of its sequel by the way), George R. R. Martin, be comforted with the arrival of projects of spin-offs around the saga’s mother.
“I piss me off in this meal, to me, when a small reversal of the situation”
“We have other projects and spin-offs that will take place before the events of Game of Thrones, and that will inspire other periods of the history of Westeros. Some might be 100 years before Game of Thrones, other 1000 years ago. “
Among these projects-in-waiting, only one of them has already been launched by HBO, a channel that broadcasts the saga phare Game of Thrones, and that would have already ordered the pilot episode. Entitled The Long Night, this series would take place 1 000 years before the events of the series mother and it would be about ” the dive of the world of the Golden Age of Heroes in its darker recesses. Secrets terrifying about the history of Westeros, the true origin of the Walkers White, passing through the mysteries of the East and of the legend of Stark, ” according to the post relayed by George R. R. Martin on his blog.
Before you see it all come to fruition, let us instead focus on this eighth and final season of Game of Thrones which comes out next year, and that according to one of its creators, David Benioff, will be : ” the biggest thing we’ve ever done. The last season well in excess of that we have tried in the past.”
See you in April.
It’s going to be a good season, I can feel it
