Real tv revolution in its time, Game of Thrones is a series that has never lost in quality (well, almost) throughout his tv career. And then that his end is approaching, we understand that this could be just the beginning in reality.

Yes, that is the sad reality and we must begin to prepare, we will live soon in a world where Game of Thrones is finished. Here, it is said, it is not fun but it is like that. That said, Westeros we should not close its doors to much since you are not without knowing that the channel HBO has a crazy desire to capitalize on the universe of George R. R. Martin, as it was ordered a few months ago, no fewer than five spin-offs of the series.

When it is finished, it is not finished

An impressive figure, and that is of concern because it suggests a probable saturation among the public. However, HBO does not develop really as a at the present time, a prequel that would take place 1 000 years before the events of the main series. This is already more logical. In addition, we have just learned via Indiewire that the other spin-offs announced, may ultimately not be developed. In fact, the director of programmes of the channel, Casey Bloys, has revealed there is little the state of progress of these projects :

“The pilot of the prequel will be shot at the beginning of next year but there’s no plan to turn other at the present time. The reason why we have developed several scripts at the same time it is that, in the process of development, we knew that by developing five there would be necessarily one that we would like.”

Then of course, this is a little tongue of wood, especially after the big announcement of the five spin-offs a few months ago. One could almost think that in the meantime, HBO realized that it was too much and the chain is now attempting to justify himself.

“There are other projects that are just as good, and there are others that will not go away. But I don’t want to dive there individually for the time being, I’ll just say that we are eager to turn the pilot and we are actively seeking a director. I don’t think there will be other activity relating to these prequels before you see what it gives. I don’t keep anything in reserve and we’ll make an announcement very soon.”

We therefore understand that in reality, HBO plays more caution. And it may be a good idea, seen the disproportionate cost of a series like Game of Thrones. Past the euphoria of success, it may very well deflate like a soufflé on the occasion of a spin-off, the spectators not having their marks, they could benefit from them to go elsewhere. Hence the need to take his time and do things in the right order. For once, there is good sense in this environment, it would be wrong to mock it.
