We could read on Bloomberg that California intends to put his foot down and refuse the registration of vehicles emitting carbon dioxide by 2040.

By doing this, only vehicles powered by electricity or hydrogen would be admitted in this State who continues to act as a leader in terms of sustainable mobility.

This bill was proposed by Phil Ting, a democrat and member of the assembly california. He plans to submit its proposal as soon as next January. For him, it is obvious that if a deadline is not fixed, you will never accomplish anything. Phil Ting is estimated that twenty-three years is a reasonable period to implement this plan.

If this law was adopted, California would be on the same list as China, France and the United Kingdom have also put forward similar plans.

With respect to Quebec, the government adopted a law zero-emission in the fall of 2016 which requires carmakers to 3.5% of their vehicles sold are electric from 2018.
