A steering wheel and pedals, this is the basis even of an automobile. All vehicles have !
However, General Motors makes every effort to produce a car that is devoid of these elements which seem to be a priori fundamental.
In fact, the american manufacturer has submitted a request to the Department of Transportation (DOT) regarding the fourth-generation of its autonomous car, the Cruise AV, based on the Chevrolet Bolt.
According to GM, it would be the first production vehicle to be fully autonomous, not requiring a driver, and not to be fitted with a steering wheel, pedal or any order.
The Cruise EV is powered by an electric motor and emits no pollutant gas. GM aims, with this autonomous car, to reduce traffic congestion and to minimize the risk of road accidents.
As you can see, with neither a steering wheel nor pedals, the interior of this type of vehicle is greatly streamlined, not to mention the fact that it is also more symmetric.
