The season of ceremonies of awards fall into the heart of the matter. Has a month of the ceremony, the Golden Globes have announced the named in the categories of the series (the movie theater is right here).

With a single appointment, Game of Thrones will not be able to appeal to the HFPA this year. Not more than The Leftovers, great absent from the ceremony despite his ultimate season 3. The absence of Veep and Julia Louis-Dreyfus is also very surprising. In spite of all, HBO is far ahead in the nominations with 12 citations. The streaming platform Netflix and FX, is placed just behind with nine and eight nominations respectively.

Justin Theroux and The Leftovers completely skipped

On the side of drama, it takes the same and start again. With the exception of the arrival of The Handmaid”s Tale, the same dramas, find themselves in competition for the Golden Globes for best drama series. A status-quo that could well benefit the series dystopian of Hulu, a few months after his coronation to the Emmys.

In women, Claire Foy for The Crown, Maggie Gyllenhaal for The Deuce (a single appointment) and Elisabeth Moss will be the big favorite. On the men’s side, the winner of the trophy will be necessarily unique between Jason Bateman (Ozark), Freddie Highmore (The Good Doctor), or Bob Odenkirk for Better Call Saul.

Among the comedies, the absence of a Veep is more than notable and very surprising. The selection committee has been more captivated by a Master of None, Will & Grace, Black-ish or the new shows SMILF and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Series Amazon, last cited, could create a surprise with his actress Rachel Brosnahan.

In men, advantage the awesome Aziz Ansari fantastic in the second season Master of None. It will still have to be wary of Kevin Bacon, excellent in I Love Dick, or William H. Macy (Shameless).

Finally, after their success at the Emmys, the actresses of Big Little Lies , continue their mad drive of the ceremonies with six nominations alone in the section, Mini-series or tv movie that contains only four categories. Laura Dern and Shailene Woodley will compete in the category for best supporting role, when Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman will be the face-to-face for the best actress category.

Even so, you should be wary of the superb Susan Sarandon and Jessica Lange in Feud (four appointments), as well as the sublime Jessica Biel for her performance in The Sinner (two appointments). The section is also great for women with five shows that are conducted or carried out by women for the best mini-series. The three previously mentioned, but also Fargo , led by Carrie Coon, and Top of the Lake: China Girl achieved in part by Jane Campion.
