Sometimes, you just have to find turn the page.

Joining the long list of cult series for controversial, in the same way that Dexter or Lost, How I Met Your Mother was screaming a horde of fans at the finale of the cult sitcom. To the point that a petition was circulating that the writers rewrite the ending that most were disappointing, if not just simply outrageous.

For all that, determined to not let go of a formula that has been proven for no less than 9 seasons, FOX had twice attempted d’give birth to spin-offs. First, in 2014, just after the stop of the series, where a project How I Met Your Dad, Meg Ryan to add his voice off had been launched to finally stay just at the embryonic stage. A pilot had even been shot with Greta Gerwig (Frances Ha, Jackie) before being finally abandoned by the studios. At the end of 2016, the studios had experience retried before being immediately abandoned.

Never two without three so since president FOX took over the project from scratch by inviting new writers :

“It was all to be delivered flat to start over again. The project has been in development for over three years. If the concept and writing are good, we will launch the project.”

Exit therefore the show runners original Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger for what presents itself as yet another attempt to surf on a past success. The parallel is found with his sister’s Friends that she also had been granted a spinoff centered on the character of Joey, who of course had been stopped after just two seasons, because of a higher quality than average, and of course of the hearings, far from the expectations of the chain.

Hoping that How I Met Your Dad may be more successful. Or not.
