Since the 1st of January, the residents of two rural counties in Oregon now have the opportunity to fill their gas tanks themselves.
The counties of Jefferson and Crook in the centre of the state of Oregon, have actually now their residents ignore their gas station attendants and serve themselves, as is the case with us… and not evil all over the world.
In fact, in the United States, only two States still prevent their residents to perform that task, yet so insignificant. There’s Oregon, but also New Jersey, not too far from Quebec.

In an article published by a network of tele local for a few days before the Day of the Year, some of the owners and employees of service stations of the two counties covered by the new Act were rather reluctant to let people use the petrol pumps.
“Our regular customers love coming here and we talk while we fill their car with petrol,” said one of them, even adding that it was not certain that motorists on the corner know how to manipulate the pumps.
There’s a first time for everything!
