Jim Carrey finds Michel Gondry for the series Kidding.

Together, they have touched one of the peaks of their careers, in magic and the sweet poetry of’Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Jim Carrey has found one of his finest roles (his non-nomination to the Oscars is a madness), and Michel Gondry has signed his film with the most successful, driven by the genius of screenwriter Charlie Kaufman (Oscar for best original screenplay). They are found on the serial Kidding , in fact, thus, in principle an unavoidable event.

And the first trailer seems to confirm it, since it plays this little folly, this shifted universe and these characters nicely unhinged.

Kidding tells the story of Jeff aka Mr. Pickes, a famous personality of a children’s program. But this man, seen as the incarnation of gentleness and kindness by the audience, begins to derail when his family imploded.

A number that promises to be fabulous for Jim Carrey, more or less absent from the screens since Dumb & Dumber to in 2014. Appeared in the tramp of the desert unrecognizable in the way The Bad Batch, past in Dark Crimes as yet unpublished in us, he should find in Kidding this beautiful role a bit soft and foolish, and who remember his talent is huge. Probably more so than in the film Sonic The Hedgehog where he will be the doctor Robotnik in any case.

Michel Gondry has directed 10 episodes of the season, in addition to being a producer. The series is created by Dave Holstein, passed by Weeds.

Kidding also with Frank Langella, Catherine Keener and Judy Greer, excellent actress too little/poorly exploited in Hollywood, the series is certainly one of the great appointments of the new school year. She lands on the 9 September in the United States. Fingers crossed for a French distribution (a priori on Canal + as most of the series, Showtime).
