After True Detective, Cary Fukunaga back in the world of television series with Maniac.
The amazing Cary Fukunaga we lack. Already more than two years ago that the great Beasts of No Nation is released on Netflix, and three years as the incredible first season of True Detective is over. In the meantime, the young director and screenwriter, had left the production of the film It, its scenario – yet very promising – not being to the taste of Warner.
Since then, the american filmmaker is very discreet and provides little in the way of news. Then necessarily, we are a little sad because such a great talent should sink under the projects (a bit like Villeneuve, in fact…). And yet, he does not project below the elbow for the moment. Fortunately, everything looks very well unfold.

The director is currently in the middle of shooting a series of cynical and sarcastic, based on a show Norwegian : Maniac. It narrates the life of a patient of a psychiatric hospital (Jonah Hill), who imagines himself in a fantasy world where he is the hero to escape from the everyday.
Accompanied by Emma Stone, recently got an oscar for the The Land but also the headliner of The Leftovers Justin Theroux, Maniac has added a new prestigious name to its casting. The actress Sally Field, winner of an oscar for Norma Rae , best known for his role in Forrest Gump, will therefore be also of the party. Its role has not yet been detailed, but it could represent the mother of the character of Jonah Hill.
Produced by Netflix, the Film is expected to arrive in full on the platform by 2018.
