It was a little debacle last week, for fans of super heroes and tv series. Netflix has announced the quick cancellation of Iron Fist and Luke Cage, and apparently, it is final.

As soon as the announcement was made official, fans, hardcores ofIron Fist and Luke Cage have issued the possibility that this decision Netflix was perhaps not as conclusive as this. In fact, maybe it no secret that the construction of a Phase 2 series Marvel on the platform, namely a future series Heroes to rent , where they referred to their appearance in other circumstances.

Mike Colter

If the prospect is tempting, we doubt frankly given the launch, next year, the own network of Disney, which recovers little by little its license not to make a self-competition. In our opinion, no, Iron Fist and Luke Cage seem to be well gone for good. And we are not the only ones to think so, as Mike Colter, the interpreter of Luke Cage, has just published a message on his account of Instagram, which no longer leaves any room for doubt.

“Luke Cage was much more than entertainment. He has brought something to the social debate and has allowed the spectators to challenge the norm, while discovering a character from the daily, a hero with flaws, strengths and everything in between. I will always be grateful to Marvel and Netflix, for having allowed me to interpret a character as fruitful and I thank my incredible fans.

Other priorities…

While one door closes, another is open, with the birth of my second daughter, born this week. A lot of good memories. It is time to make new ones. Go forward, always go forward.”

A message that does not, therefore, leave questions unanswered regarding the future involvement of Mike Colter in this universe : for him, Luke Cage, it is finished. After that, it may also be that the hero is changing to an unexpected return, but this would clearly not be the best solution for the best to respect the attachment of fans to the character. But who knows ?
