Rachel sacrificed herself for her sisters in episode 7 of season 5 of Orphan Black. Check out our review of “Gag or Throttle”?

Last week, in episode 6 of season 5 of Orphan Black, two deaths broke the truth about Westmorland. Did Sarah and her sisters prove that he was an impostor? Was Kira saved? Melty’s editor reveals his criticism of Orphan Black’s Season 5 episode 7. “Gag or Throttle” opens with a flashback of Rachel, already familiar with many things about the clones, at the age of 6 years. If one knows her cold and wicked, one must not forget that she was conscious of being an experience … just like Kira, the new Eve. For their part, Cosima and Charlotte are excellent navigators and are safe and sound. The scientist brought back the remedy for his sisters but also bad news. She tells Sarah that Dyad plans to take Kira’s ova. The young woman is shocked and tries to find a way to pressure Neolution. The sisters want to try to discredit Westmoreland by revealing that it is an impostor. On the island, Rachel collects herself on her mother’s grave and then meets Coady. The young woman is delighted to finally know the scientist but much less when P.T announces that she will undergo a test to see if the Cosima treatment works in season 5 of Orphan Black.

Rachel seems to begin to doubt Westmoreland’s intentions. She had signed a contract of emancipation and was no longer the property of Neolution. However, following the announcement of this review, it no longer seems really “free”. Coady then collects the endometrial tissue of Rachel who remembers having been examined by Leekie. When the young woman had tried to find out about the Leda clone disease, Leekie had reminded her that it was only an experiment and these rules are still valid. Rachel assures P.T that her affection for Kira does not alter her dedication to their project but she seems against taking the little girl on the island in season 5 of Orphan Black. Coady finds his guest, Mark, the only male clone alive, now that Ira is dead. She continues her experiences by asking for her sperm and asks for information. Mark knows where to find Helena! It is his wife, Gracie, who goes to meet him, we wonder how this little interview between the two women will end. Rachel understands that P.T can monitor her with her robotic eye. While she allows Kira to talk to her mother, the little girl announces in an ingenious way that Rachel is about to take her to the island.

Cosima eventually regained the true identity of Westmoreland, named John Patrick Mathieson, born in Texas in 1939. Sarah soon revealed it to Rachel and begged her to help Kira in season 5 of Orphan Black. However, Rachel says it is not she who decides. But finally, it warns Art. After hiding her eye, she reunites Kira and Sarah. Later, she sacrifices her eye so that Westmoreland can no longer monitor her. “Gag or Throttle” gave us goose bumps, surprised us and moved. It was particularly interesting to learn more about Rachel and understand why she did what she did. Her evolution over the episode was mind blowing, she amazed us. We also note that we appreciated the brief but hilarious return of the new Alison which promises to be even more fun than the old one. While waiting for the next episode of season 5 of Orphan Black, discover also the spoilers of the week.
