But other than that… Damon Herriman, no you don’t have a mind of a psychopath for that, we will caste twice for the same role. This is only a coincidence.

There are times where the expression “the world is really small” takes all its meaning, and where one wonders if the universe is not connected. Two days ago, the website the Wrap announced that Quentin Tarantino had recruited Damon Herriman to portray Charles Manson in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, in the middle of a casting, four-star (Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Al Pacino, Margot Robbie, or even Kurt Russell).

Except that the director of Boulevard of the dead and Inglourious Basterds was not the first to have this idea. In fact, Damon Herriman will also be the Charles Manson of season 2 of Mindhunter, the series produced by David Fincher.

Let’s not ask why it is cast after that

According to the site Collider, David Fincher had already started to stare to Damon Herriman for camping its Charles Manson in the rest of the series to Netflix. Because, if you didn’t know yet, season 2 of Mindhunter will focus on the killers in series, known including of course Charles Manson and his follower Tex Watson, but also Wayne Williams, David Berkowitz, and the infamous Dennis Rader, nicknamed BTK (Blind, Torture, Kill).

But to return to our Charles Manson, Damon Herriman will undergo a few changes between the two works. If for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, the plot unfolds in the years 1969, when the murder of Sharon Tate (as embodied by Margot Robbie), in Mindhunter, Manson will be already behind bars since the series takes place in the 80’s. According to sources quoted by Collider, Damon Herriman would have already shot his scenes with David Fincher, and this, as early as last July.

Damon Herriman in J. Edgar

About Damon Herriman, he now has serious questions to ask relative to its image. Play Charles Manson not once but twice, is anything but trivial. Especially for the two filmmakers so prestigious. This is not the first time that the actor portrays of types, a little glaucous on the screen. It will be remembered in particular for his interpretation of Dewey Crowe in Justified, but also of Bruno Hauptmann in J. Edgar, or even of its allure, a strange Quarry.

For the time being, the release date of Mindhunter season 2 has still not been unveiled. It only remains to be seen if the series will be released before or after the movie by Quentin Tarantino, who we remind you, comes out on the 14th of August 2019.

It will not be any rest this season 2
