The driver of the Tesla had a funny alarm clock, there are some days, when the police were caught sleeping at the wheel while his car was on his way.

On the Bay Bridge, which connects San Francisco to Oakland, patrol officers of the California Highway Patrol (CHP) have intercepted the motorist in question after noticing that he seemed to have lost consciousness at the wheel of his vehicle.

After having recovered his spirits, the motorist came to a stop and explained to the officers that his Tesla was in mode “Autopilot”. A breathalyzer has allowed the police officers to realize that the driver in question had more than double the legal limit of alcohol in the blood at the time of the intervention.

On Twitter, the CHP explained the story by confirming that the offending person has been arrested and that it will be obviously accused of driving while impaired.

The Tesla, for its part, been towed. “No, she is not driving alone up to the pound”, concluded the CHP. Is better to laugh than cry!
