Spider-Man: Homecoming has just come out in our rooms that studios are already looking at its suite. And Jon Watts could come back as a director.

With Spider-Man: Homecoming, Jon Watts achieved a masterpiece. He has succeeded in reinventing the character of Spidey, who has previously had two incarnations, but he has also seduced audiences with his younger and over enthusiastic hero. So to silence the last tongues that found that three Spider-Men in fifteen years only, it did a lot. Tom Holland’s Peter Parker is going to talk about him a long time since the studios are planning to devote at least a trilogy to him! The partnership between Marvel and Sony therefore still has good days ahead. Moreover, the studios are already looking at the Spider-Man suite: Homecoming, whose release date is scheduled for July 2019. Of course, one of their primary concerns is who can achieve it . And there, they may already have more or less found the right candidate …

You probably will not be surprised to learn that their choice would be for now … Jon Watts. And yes, the vision of the director – and the success of the film at the box office – seem to have particularly attracted the studios. According to the Variety website, they are currently in negotiations with the director so that he will come back to stage the following Spider-Man: Homecoming. In itself, this is not surprising, as the Marvel studios have already used the services of the same directors, such as the Russo brothers or Joss Whedon, for example. Jon Watts, who wrote the screenplay for Spider-Man: Homecoming with the help of Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley, would be able to find the young superhero after his visit to the Avengers. Finally, the studios still have time to see coming and their decision could change in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, fans of Spidey may already have a glimpse of what the rest of the film could offer us!
