After a comeback moving but much too short to really be appreciated, X-Files is facing today in what is probably his greatest challenge : to continue an adventure pending since 20 years.

Because, let’s be honest, despite all the qualities that we can find him, the season 10 was only a friendly setting in the mouth, with its 6 épîsodes, a way to test the public without taking any real risk, just to see if the business non-classified were always so popular. And we must believe that, despite the many flaws of the previous season, it is still the case, since Fox has ordered a season 11 that should correct the problem on a lot of plans.

Already, there will be not 6 but 10 episodes, which is good news, and a majority of them will not be devoted to the famous own Mythology to the series, which has no more meaning for many years, but which still serves as the red thread handy. And so during the latest edition of the New York Comic-Con that production has unveiled the first trailer of this season 11 ultra expected, and for the time provided for “somewhere in 2018”. A season that appeals to many well-known faces since we should find the Smoking Man, Walter Skinner, and even one of the Lone Gunmen. An entire episode should be dedicated to the director of the FBI, Skinner, precious ally of Mulder for years, but always as ambiguous.

By contrast, during the panel that followed the presentation of the trailer, Gillian Anderson has revealed that she stopped the series after this new season. An announcement a sad, but predictable, however :

“I think it’s over for me. I’m back for the season 11 because I thought that we had not finished. It seemed to me mandatory to give all the fans were expecting us at least one last time. And now it is.”

And somewhere, we prefer that the series and the character to the end of their career on a high note with flamboyant rather than over a long and painful descent into the underworld like so many other shows before them.
