Cars that drive themselves are poorly seen by a majority of american motorists.
Except that according to the most recent study by the American Automobile Association (AAA), and the feeling of fear tends to decrease.

According to the most recent figures from the AAA, are now 63% of Americans surveyed who say they would be afraid to take place aboard an autonomous vehicle. It is still a lot, but it is a clear improvement compared to the study of 2017, where 78% of respondents said they were frightened by this kind of technology.
Women would be particularly frightened by the autonomous cars (73%), while among men, just over half (52%) has been reluctant.
Despite this proportion, even a majority of motorists who are afraid of the autonomous control, the american drivers remain many want some of the technologies driving assistance integrated to their vehicle. Approximately half of the respondents (51%) in the most recent survey of AAA have shown to be favourable.
