Almost all car manufacturers agree that the electrification of transportation represents the future of the industry. However, sales of electric cars remain low.
Despite all the attention they receive and the generous government funding that are allotted to their purchase, full electric vehicles do not even represent 1% of new car sales in Canada. That is a drop of water in the ocean.
However, this is not due to lack of availability. There is already a good range of electrical models and the network of terminals of refills is more comprehensive.

According to a survey conducted by the us site Autolist.com the battery life would still be the largest disability (34.2%) electric vehicles.
Apart from autonomy, a series of other factors were listed by respondents to explain their reluctance to the purchase of such a vehicle:
Battery life: 34,2%
Vehicle price: 24,5%
Lack of charging stations: up to 16.7%
Charging time: 9,5%
Environmental Impact of the battery: up to 8.2%
Maintenance costs: 5,9%
No sound of engine: 1,2%

According to the study, 57% of those surveyed would not hesitate to buy an electric car which offers 480 kilometres (300 miles) of autonomy.
At this time, except for the very expensive models of Tesla, the electric vehicle offers the utmost autonomy is the Chevrolet Bolt, with 383 kilometers. For the rest, the average is more around 200 kilometres, far short of the expectations of the people surveyed by Autolist.
