Indeed, the guardian angel of Liz did not want to believe it but it is indeed Dembe who betrayed it and tried to kill him. It seems that he had prepared his coup for weeks or even months before attacking Red. Why ? Dembe simply did not support the criminal attacking Mister Kaplan after she lied to him at Liz’s request in Season 4 of The Blacklist . So, her friend wanted to avenge her!
