Vehicle green the most popular in Quebec, the Chevrolet Volt could be discarded before long.
This is at least what advance Bob Lutz, known character in the automotive world, having held key positions with several builders over the course of his career. Now a columnist for the american magazine Road & Track, Lutz has not been encouraging about the future of the Volt in his last post.
In the last issue of the magazine, Bob Lutz addressed the reasons that push manufacturers to cease production of a model. “GM will, according to rumors, to abandon the Chevrolet Volt, he comments. It is an excellent vehicle, but nobody wants of small sedans these days,” he continued.

In the words of Lutz, General Motors would be so tempted to get rid of the Volt current, but keep its architecture to develop a sport-utility vehicle compact with dimensions similar to those of the Chevrolet Trax.
In short, GM wants to continue his adventure with electric gasoline engine that acts as a generator, but not in its current form. The mode is to small trucks, then we would like to offer a small truck.
Officially launched in 2011, the Volt has been the subject of a serious promotional campaign on the part of Chevrolet, which is presented as the perfect compromise between the 100% electric car and the gasoline.

Other disappearances imminent
According to Bob Lutz, the Chevrolet Volt would not be the only model who is at risk of being relegated to the dustbin by GM over the next few years.
“The Buick LaCrosse is going to die, along with a few sedans Cadillac”, predicted the man of business with insurance. Rather surprising in the case of the LaCrosse, which has just been redesigned from A to Z.
Of course, Bob Lutz is not a seer and his words are not necessarily a guarantee of the future. Except that when a man so well placed in the automotive industry in advance of such connection, it is a sign that the discussions are going well at GM.
There is never smoke without fire, after all.
